Wishing and Hoping

As an Artist we often wish we could paint like someone else, or wish we had that idea, or why didn’t we think of that or try that. Well today I was looking at my work and I realised that I paint like me. No-one else paints exactly like me or has my ideas or references and that’s OK. That’s what makes us all individual. I’m not saying to not try new things or go to workshops and forever keep trying to improve. I guess I’m just saying that I’m grateful that I can render an image with as much technique, passion and skill as I can muster right now. That’s Individuality. That’s Diversity. That’s pretty good right.

Rhonda Armistead is a contemporary Artist from Lismore in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales, Australia. Mediums include, Oils and Acrylics on Canvas, Reduction Plate Lino Prints, Etchings on Acrylic Plates, Drawings, Sketches in Pencil and Charcoal and Fine Line Pen. Her paintings include Portraits, Landscapes and Contemporary Abstract pieces. Commonly, she explores the intrinsic biodiversity and nature studies of the Region along with expressive portraiture and dramatic combinations of both, usually with an underlying message encapsulated within the symbolism and aesthetic of the work.
